2EN provides energy yield assessments for wind projects, from wind data processing and long-term correction through flow modelling, loss calculations and uncertainty analysis.
Studies combine site measurements, suitable long-term reference data and numerical modelling, with assumptions, losses and key uncertainty sources clearly documented.
Energy yield methodology
The analysis links measured wind conditions with the long-term wind climate, spatial flow variation across the site and expected wind farm production.
Long-term correlation
Site measurements are correlated with suitable long-term reference datasets to establish the long-term wind climate.
Flow modelling
Specialist flow models are used to characterise spatial variation in the wind resource and estimate conditions at turbine locations.
Energy yield estimation
Expected production is calculated using turbine characteristics, layout, losses and project-specific technical assumptions.
International technical participation
2EN is an active member of the MEASNET Site Assessment Expert Group, where technical experience is shared and common approaches are developed for wind measurement, wind resource analysis and energy yield assessment.

Uncertainty, losses and energy yield
The energy yield estimate is accompanied by analysis of the main uncertainty sources and losses, so results can be used in technical design and financial analysis.
